HPV Linked to Head and Neck Cancers; Possible New Role for HPV Vaccine: Two studies show that the human papillomavirus (HPV, the virus present in virtually all cervical cancers) was found in 72 percent of several types of head and neck cancers, and, for reasons that are not fully understood, that the presence of the virus was linked to better treatment outcomes. These findings suggest a possible role for the new HPV vaccine in preventing head and neck cancers, though additional study would be needed.

72% is about three times higher than the Hopkins report, which said 25%.
